THE PROPOSAL
How We Got Engaged
Cabell and Heather both had MLK day off from work. Since they rarely have the same holidays off from work, they decided to spend the day in DC together. Truth be told, Heather is a little scared of our nation's capitol. She considers the other side of the Potomac to be a foreign land. Therefore, Cabell was put in charge of planning the events of the day. That morning Cabell came to pick Heather up and had made a detailed itinerary. We would park at his work parking garage and first go to the White House Visitor's Center. It was rather small, but had the chocolate version of the White House. Our next stop was the Newseum, which neither one of us had seen before. If you have never been there, go to the newseum! It is awesome.
After the Newseum, we went to lunch. Since we were already near the Capitol we decided to just keep walking and see it up close. The entire walk Heather serenaded Cabell with SHR's "I'm Just a Bill." From there, we decided to walk to the Washington Monument. By the time we made it to the Pencil, we figured we should just keep walking and see the WW2 and Lincoln memorials.
